Professional Development activities at PCCD provide DEISJ*-centered training for all PCCD employees. Three components include new hire onboarding, ongoing professional development, and career advancement pathways for all PCCD constituents including student workers, classified professionals, faculty, managers, and the Board of Trustees.

The PDLC, located at the District Office, offers employee onboarding, and ongoing professional development trainings.
Each year there are six PD Flex Days. Flex days are organized by and for faculty (per Ed Code), but include many activities for classified professional colleagues.
The Vision Resource Center, provided by the California Community College Chancellor’s Office, is an online PD resource for all community college employees.
The Professional Development Office of the Peralta Community College District provides professional learning for staff, faculty, and administrators by organizing Professional Development Days and Flex Activities; by supporting the colleges’ professional development efforts, and by curating and sharing information about professional development opportunities

Peralta Community College District is comprised of Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, Laney College, and Merritt College. Together they provide northern Alameda County a range of educational programs and life-long learning opportunities.
